This book is a compilation of more than 30 years of work by architect Waro Kishi, who has worked as an architectural designer in Kyoto, which is crowded with historical buildings that have been taken care of in a process. long. Selected from over 150 projects, from the first published work “Kyoto Junior College of Arts Takahara Campus (now Kyoto University of Art and Design)” (1982), which he also taught, to ongoing projects abroad. 39 works posted. You can see the thought process at that time from the rich and explanatory images such as drawings, color drawings, and sketches that will be revealed for the first time during the transition from the era of photography and hand-drawn to the CAD era.
At the beginning of the book, there is an essay titled “14 facts that make up Waro Kishi””. He reveals his experience in architecture and space, which can be considered the source of his work as an architect. At the end of the book, there is also an article by Mr. Yasuo Takahashi, a former student of Mr. Kishi, professor emeritus at Kyoto University and architectural historian. Mr. Kishi’s work will be placed in the historical context of architecture, and the significance of his work will be discussed.
Kishi, who has declared himself a modernist in any era, is a book that provides a multidimensional understanding of his entire activities that led him to his identification in Kyoto, along with a newly written article.
This is a book that should be read by many, not only those involved in architecture, but also students aspiring to become architects and those interested in architecture and the work of architects.”
